Blast Man Explodes In As Latest Robot Master

The Mega Man franchise is all about conquering difficult stages and besting the Robot Master at the end to acquire their abilities. While we already knew about Block Man and Fuse Man, we now know the third Robot Master: Blast Man.

As the name implies, Blast Man is a volatile adversary with an undying love of explosions. This is reflected in both his abilities as well as his stage design. Taking place in an abandoned amusement park/movie studio hybrid, the stage features plenty of explosive elements and a mid-boss themed around an out-of-control roller coaster.

Once you reach Blast Man, he hops around the room, tossing explosives Mega Man's way. If you defeat Blast Man, you unlock an ability that floats bombs across the screen that stick to enemies. You can also chain together bombs for multiple explosions, or use the Power Gear to detonate one massive explosion.

Capcom also detailed Mega Man 11's parts upgrade system. Using bolts you collect from defeating enemies, you can upgrade Mega Man's abilities and craft new items. One of the upgrades you can purchase from Dr. Light using bolts is the Auto-Charge ability, which causes Mega Man's mega buster to charge on its own. Several other upgrades will be available to purchase using these bolts.

Mega Man 11

Mega Man 11 also features different challenges outside of the main game. Time Attack puts players up against the clock as they race to complete the stages as quickly as possible. Balloon Attack presents a similar premise, but all the enemies are removed from the stages. Instead of simply making it through the stages, you must burst balloons by shooting or touching them. However, you're still up against the clock, and each blue balloon you miss or red balloon you pop adds to your time, creating a unique challenge within the traditional Mega Man formula.

Mega Man 11 is set to launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on October 2. For more on the development of Mega Man 11, check out our exclusive coverage hub

We Happy Few Gets Classified For Release In Australia

E3 2018 brought an August release date for We Happy Few, the upcoming title from Compulsion Games. However, the future of the game in Australia has remained up in the air since May, when the Australian Classification Review Board rejected the title for its incentivization of drug use. Upon the rejection, Compulsion Games immediately assured fans it was looking into ways it can release in Australia.

Today, Compulsion Games announced that its appeal to the Australian Classification Review Board was successful and the game will release unmodified under the R18+ rating.

In a blog post addressing the matter, Compulsion celebrated its successful appeal.

"We went to a great deal of effort to get this decision overturned. We Happy Few will be rated R18+ in Australia.

We are extremely pleased with the decision of the board and excited that our Australian fans and new players will be able to experience We Happy Few without modification.

We want to thank everybody who got involved in the discussion, contacted the board and sent us countless messages of support.  Your involvement made a huge difference."

We Happy Few launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on August 10.

August Cover Revealed – Destiny 2: Forsaken

Destiny 2 has had more than its fair share of ups and downs since launch. Various blogs and roadmaps Bungie has released over the past year document how the developer has responded to fan feedback, improving the many loops and loot at play in its shooter. But while players continue to invest dozens of hours in this online shooter, many others find the experience lacking; after some communicative snafus (including an deceptive experience bar) and two expansions that added more activities but didn't do enough to make players' investment feel meaningful, the repetitive grind and lack of a long-term endgame continue to rear their ugly heads.

But this has happened before. The original Destiny launched with similar issues, but with The Taken King expansion, Bungie managed to turn the ship around; because of this narrative, the studio knows expectations are high for Forsaken to do the same for Destiny 2. Matt Miller recently had the chance to take an extensive, hours-long look at the nearly every aspect of the expansion, playing several hours of the campaign and getting hands-on time with Gambit and some of the other key changes hitting in September, including the new weapon slots, supers, and more. And while one can never be certain about the long tail of living game, what we've seen has us excited for Destiny 2's second year.

Online, we'll also have exclusive coverage throughout the month, detailing how, exactly, Bungie plans to round out Destiny 2’s rough edges while also building a more mysterious, enthralling world for players to explore. We'll have videos taking a look at how The Dreaming City will act as a hub for Destiny 2's endgame, the story behind Forsaken's new enemies and bosses, an extensive look at Gambit, another new multiplayer mode and, of course, a thorough inspection of a brand new exotic weapon.

Our August issue is also packed with info on tons of other games. E3 gave us lots to be excited about, and we break down how the console makers fared in their press conferences while also highlighting the 50 best games we saw at the show. For more on marquee titles like Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us Part II, and more, make sure to read the entire issue.

Print subscribers can expect their issues to begin arriving in the next few days. The digital edition of this issue launches today for PC/Mac, iOS, Android, and Google Play. You can also get the latest issue through third-party apps on Nook and Kindle starting tomorrow. To switch your print subscription to digital, click here, or to create a new subscription to the digital edition, click here.

UFC 3 Gets New Icon Edition, Adds Five Legends To Roster

EA Sports has announced a new digital version of UFC 3 in hopes of enticing new players to jump into the Octagon. UFC 3 Icon Edition swaps out former featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor for current flyweight champ and pound-for-pound best fighter Demetrious Johnson as cover athlete, and grants a few bonuses for Ultimate Team players.

Players who pick up the Icon Edition will get one permanent champion fighter and move to add to their Ultimate Team. Players can choose between Johnson, McGregor, former strawweight champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk, former welterweight and middleweight champ Georges St-Pierre, and former middleweight champion Anderson Silva. Icon Edition owners will also receive additional content for the mode.

For those who already own UFC 3, EA Sports is delivering a free update that promises gameplay improvements, as well as the addition of five former UFC fighters. Tito Ortiz, Matt Serra, Wanderlei Silva, Mirko Cro Cop, and Kimbo Slice join the roster in the new update coming to all UFC 3 players for free.

UFC 3 creative director Brian Hayes says the Icon Edition gives the team an excuse to add these fighters they've been wanting to add to the roster. "I’m pumped about Icon Edition, everything about it is great," he says. "DJ totally deserves the cover, and the new fighters are guys we’ve been wanting to add to the game, or see make a comeback, for years. Now I’m gonna shred so many faces with Tito’s elbows."

Johnson, a Twitch partner and lifelong gamer, is excited to finally make it onto the cover of a video game. "It's fantastic," he says. "It's only the digital cover, so it's not like the retail cover you'd see at your local gaming store, but the digital cover... it'll have to do for now. I'm hoping next year or three years from now when they come out with UFC 4, hopefully they have me on the front cover with the many other champions. But it's awesome! I'm happy and grateful for EA choosing me to be the Icon for this release!"

UFC 3 Icon Edition is available for $39.99 through July 17. For our review of UFC 3, head here. To watch us play UFC 3 and talk life as a fighter with Icon Edition cover star Demetrious Johnson, head here.

Shenmue I & II Gets August Release Date

Long-suffering Shenmue fans were disappointed by Shenmue III's no-show at E3 2018, but Sega's recent announcement that Shenmue I & II are being remastered for modern platforms took some of the sting out of the long wait for the third entry.

Now, Sega has released a pre-order trailer that officially confirms the release date. You can watch that trailer, which is sure to give any fans who played the original releases when they came out a strong sense of nostalgia, above.

You Can Catch Squirtle With Sunglasses In Pokémon Go This Sunday

Last month, Niantic announced that its monthly Community Day in July would focus on the water starter, Squirtle. Players knew this meant a high probability of a Shiny variant of the blue turtle, but Niantic has announced that players have a chance to encounter Squirtle sporting sunglasses in homage to the Squirtle Squad from the anime.

By completing special Research Tasks during Squirtle Community Day this Sunday, July 8, you can encounter Squirtle wearing sunglasses. No word on if this means you won't be able to find Shiny Squirtles in the wild as you've been able to with the featured Pokémon in each Community Day to this point. Either way, if you evolve a Wartortle into a Blastoise during the three-hour window of Community Day, it'll know the exclusive move Hydro Cannon.

Attention, Trainers: if you complete Field Research tasks during Community Day, you may have a chance to encounter Squirtle sporting sunglasses. 🕶️ Good luck! pic.twitter.com/hacoIvzOCD
